Como rematar un buen cuello al bies

¿Cuantas veces te has visto con un cuello al bies de tela de punto elástico y no has sabido como rematarlo para que quede perfectamente?

Pues aquí te enseño una forma de hacerlo de forma sencilla y que queda fenomenal. Este pequeño tutorial lo ha hecho una de mis tester del patrón bruja y la verdad es que no ha podido quedar mejor.

Y

Puedes confeccionar tu propio bies elástico cortando una tira de tela de 1,5 pulgadas de ancho y 28,5 pulgadas de largo (o mida el 80% + margen de costura).
Doble el bies por la mitad por el revés, abra cada lado hasta la mitad y prénselo antes de colocarlo.

Coloque el bies del derecho al revés del vestido en el interior del cuello y extiéndalo uniformemente.

How to finish off a good bias binding collar

How many times have you seen yourself with a bias binding collar, and you didn’t know how to finish it off perfectly?

Well, here I show you a way to do it in a simple way and it looks great. This little tutorial has been made by one of my tester of the witch pattern and the truth is that it couldn’t be better.

You can make you own stretch bias by cutting a strip of fabric 1.5in wide and 28.5in long (or mesure 80% + seam allowance)
Fold bias in half wrong side together, open then each side to the middle of it and press prior to installation.

·         place bias right side to wrong side of the dress inside the collar and spread evenly
sew with stretch stitch of your choice
·         fold bias twice as per picture to cover the seam
·         Clip in place it should look like this
·         Sew in place close to the edge with the preferred top stitching method, making sure that the seam is not showing.

Now you can finish off all bias binding collars in your knitted garments with this quick and easy method. They will be finished to perfection and without much effort. you have this and more tutorials in my Instagram.

Christmas outfits: traditional or elegant

This may be the question you ask yourself the most when you are thinking about what to wear for the holidays. Should I choose a traditional Christmas outfit or something more elegant? Will I be overdressed or too casual?

To help you choose something according to your style I am going to leave these two ideas of outfits for each style to inspire you.

DIY Traditional Christmas Outfit

If you already know me you know that I love to make my own clothes and at Christmas I always use to release a special dress for these dates. And this year that everything is back to normal it was the right one. Now that we are all going to get together as a family, I want to wear something unique and special made by myself.

Victorian Christmases are my favorite and I think they best represent classic traditional Christmases, and one of my most inspired movies is Little Women.

And from that movie comes this outfit for Christmas in red and green tartan. They are the colors of Christmas and when I saw this fabric in the store it called me “buy me, buy me”.

Fabric, pattern and materials to make this Christmas outfit

In this case I used a fabric that I bought in a store in my town. It is a medium weight cotton tartan with a red fabric to make the collar and cuffs. It has an invisible zipper on one side.

The pattern for this dress is the peter pan collar dress, which you can find on my website. Also in projector, A4 and A0 format.

Elegant Christmas Outfit

Not to say that the other one is not elegant, but this dress is more classic and we usually associate it more with a more sober style. This simple and fitted dress has the detail of the lantern sleeves and the gathering at the waist. It doesn’t need any extra details, so it’s perfect.

It is very simple and quick to create, you can have it in an afternoon (if you don’t have children who can interrupt you) and release it for Christmas or New Year’s Eve.

Fabric, materials and pattern

The fabric I have chosen is a bottle green Scuba neoprene fabric from Pugutextile. It has some stretch and since it has no zipper you can put it on and take it off without it bothering you. And you can even eat without worrying about the dress being too tight.

The pattern is this Bodycon Milan dress that you have on my website in sizes from XS to 6XL. You can no longer say that there is no dress in your size. You have it in A4, A0 and projector format.

Esta puede ser la pregunta que más te hagas cuándo te pones a pensar en que ponerte para las fiestas. ¿Elijo un outfit para navidad tradicional o en algo más elegante? ¿Iré demasiado arreglada o muy informal?

DIY Outfit para Navidad tradicional

Si ya me conoces sabes que me encanta hacer mi propia ropa y en Navidad siempre suelo estrenar un vestido especial para estas fechas. Y este año que todo ha vuelto un poco a la normalidad era el adecuado. Ahora que nos vamos a juntar todos en familia, quiero llevar algo único y especial hecho por mi misma.

Las navidades victorianas son mis favoritas y creo que son las que mejor representan las navidades tradicionales clásicas, y una de mis pelis más inspirados es Mujercitas.

Y de esa peli sale este outfit para navidad en tartan rojo y verde. Son los colores de la Navidad y cuándo vi esta tela en la tienda me llamo “cómprame, cómprame”.

Tela, patrón y materiales para hacer este outfit para Navidad

En este caso he usado una tela que compre en una tienda de mi pueblo. Es un tartan de algodón con peso medio y una tela en rojo para hacer el cuello y los puños. Lleva una cremallera invisible en un lateral.

El patrón de este vestido es el vestido cuello bebe, que puedes encontrar en mi web. También en formato proyector, A4 y A0.

Outfit para Navidad elegante

No quiero decir que el otro no sea elegante, pero este vestido es más clásico y lo solemos asociar más con un estilo más sobrio. Este vestido simple y ajustado tiene el detalle de las mangas farol y el fruncido en la cintura. No necesita ningún detalle extra, asi es perfecto.

Es muy sencillo y rápido de crear, podrás tenerlo en una tarde (si no tienes niños que puedan interrumpirte) y estrenarlo en Navidad o Año Nuevo.

La tela que he elegido es una tela de neopreno Scuba de color verde botella de la tienda Pugutextile. Tiene algo de elasticidad y como no lleva cremallera lo puedes poner y quitar sin que te moleste. Y hasta comer sin preocuparte que te apriete el vestido.
