A letter to you, my kindred soul in stitches and stories.
My dear friend,
The year has barely unfolded, and already my hands are longing for fabric — soft cottons, gentle linens, the promise of something beautiful taking shape, one slow stitch at a time. I’ve been thinking a lot about beginnings lately. Not the hurried kind that rush in with resolutions and to-do lists, but the quiet ones that bloom like morning light through the curtains — tender, unhurried, full of intention.
This January, I decided to start my year with thread, tea, and calm. No pressure. No deadlines. Just me, my sewing machine, and the soothing sound of fabric meeting needle — a rhythm that feels like breathing. I want every piece I make to carry a story, a bit of soul. Because when we sew slowly, with love and mindfulness, we’re not just creating clothes… we’re weaving moments, memories, and meaning.
Sometimes, as I trace a pattern or pin a hem, I think about how much beauty there is in imperfection. The tiny crooked stitches that show we were there — fully present, heart and hands aligned. Isn’t that what makes handmade pieces so magical?
This year, I’m also embracing more intention in my creative process. That’s why I started using my digital sewing project planner, “Threads of the Soul.” It’s become my cozy companion — a place where I can dream up projects, jot down fabric swatches, track progress, and remind myself to slow down and savor the journey. It’s not just a planner… it’s a gentle invitation to create with purpose and love.

So here’s to a new year of sewing softly — surrounded by the rustle of fabric, the warmth of tea, and the quiet joy of making something beautiful with our own hands. Let’s dream big, sew slowly, and live each stitch with grace.
With love and gratitude,
Abelis
